Application
Please, fill out the following and comment to this post with it. If you'd prefer, you can send in your application via e-mail (mods@beyondtherift.com) where the entire process will remain private. Refer to this post for an explanation of what we're looking for. Remember when applying, you have a week from your acceptance to intro within the game.
Please, add the name of your character in the subject line. You can place part #s beside the name in the subject if you'd like but make certain the name is there.
This is for AU applications only. Please check our AU Guidelines before applying.
We will wait two weeks before processing applications in casts that are over the size of ten. In addition, there is now a two week wait between applications for the same mun. You apply for one and get accepted, but then have to wait two weeks to apply for another character.
When you have two active characters in game, you can apply for a cameo character. Information about what kind of characters qualify for cameo status is here.
If you've been on hiatus, please, don't apply until you have returned to full activity (there's a two week wait generally).
Please, direct any questions regarding the application to this post or to the mod e-mail.

Revisions
Re: Revisions
To start with, although, with the fine examples of Peggy Carter and Stevie Rogers, Howard Stark obviously didn't consider women to be lesser than men... he was still a man of his time, and in his world, women simply weren't wired to be engineers. So rather than considering Tony his successor as he might have if she were a boy, and with no more children after several years, Howard resigned himself to the Stark legacy dying with him. He threw himself into his work, trying to do as much as he could with the years he had, and both ignored and resented Tony for not being what he wanted - even though if he'd looked a little closer, he might have seen that she was everything he'd wished for in a child, save for that one small variation.
Consequently, while the male Tony got a video from his father addressed to him, calling Tony his "greatest creation"... Antonia got a video that showed her how to fix the arc reactor in her chest, sure, but it was simply addressed to anyone in the future who might have the means to put together what Howard couldn't. That stung, more than she'll admit, and unlike the male Tony, she doesn't have that closure on her relationship with her father - she's still angry and hurt, still trying to piss him off, still trying to build the one thing that'll make daddy proud of her.
She had a rougher time at MIT, too - there were always the rumors floating around that she only got in because of her father, only stayed because she slept with her professors (which, okay, she did, but it was once, and never for a grade). She had to fight to retrieve her company from Obidiah Stane when she was 21; the two of them still had the same quasi-paternal relationship, but a lot more patronizing on Obi's side, and he kept trying to convince her it would be best if he stayed CEO, she could just stand by his side and be the brains and - probably more importantly to him - the name of the company. Tony was not having any of that - she was going to run her company, not be some kind of mascot - and it took threatening to drag lawyers into it before Obidiah stepped aside.
Her public image is... slightly different from male Tony's. He gets "genius billionaire playboy philanthropist", while on a good day, Tony is lucky to be considered one of the above, never mind all of them at once. The worst of the articles treat her as some kind of alarmingly clever Paris Hilton (her many and varied affairs, drinking habits, and frequent failure to arrive at her own public appearances really don't help with this), while the better ones just question her ability to live up to her father's legacy and her dedication to the company, criticize her business decisions and her public life... Basically, her relationship with the press is a lot more love-hate. She still plays to them, still gets a kick out of it, but it's with a snarl disguised as a smile, and always on the defensive.
Her announcement that Stark Enterprises was getting out of the weapons business was met with a lot of speculation about what happened to her in the Middle East - loud and graphic speculation, which Tony always refused to confirm or deny, but the general consensus was that they broke her over there, that it was a decision made out of fear and trauma rather than resolve and principles. Her announcement that she was Iron Man was met with a lot of skepticism initially - not least because... well... Iron Man. Tony explained, with a great deal of irritation, that boob cups are not exactly beneficial to a suit that takes a lot of punishment, shot down the few attempts at referring to her as Iron Woman or Iron Maiden, and might have been a little showier than necessary with the suit on a few occasions, making sure people could see her face; the skepticism mostly faded away after that. Now, she lives a weird dual life, even when her "secret identity" is right there on the front of every paper: as Iron Man, people respect her, people judge her by her capabilities and actions; out of the suit, she's still Princess Stark, fighting tooth and claw for every bit of respect she gets, holing up with her machines to forget that fight is necessary, and pretending not to give a damn what anyone thinks about her.
Accepted!
